  • What if I don’t want to donate to the charity chosen?
Our goal is to utilize the power of numbers to make a large donation to 4 different charities in the year. If you feel strongly against our process we applaud you for donating to a charity of your choice on your own. We do recognize that this group and its process may not be for everyone.

  • Can I bring a friend to the meeting?
Absolutely! Anyone is welcome to attend and observe the meeting before deciding if they would like to become a member. If you turn in a Membership Form before the balloting takes place, you will be allowed to vote at your first meeting.

  • What if I can’t attend the meeting, do I still get a vote?
Due to the nature of the voting process you will be obligated to contribute your donation, but you must be present to vote.

  • Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes, your cancelled check should serve as a receipt for your donation. Checks are written directly to the charity. All nominated charities are 501(c)(3)’s, which means your contribution is tax deductible. Your cancelled check should serve as a receipt for your donation. The charity may also send you a receipt.

  • Can I send my check directly to the charity?
Please send checks to the Power of 100 RRV at 3550 38th Ave S, Ste G, Fargo, ND 58104. The goal of the Power of 100 is to make a large donation on behalf of the whole organization. We’d like each member’s contribution to be part of this donation.

  • Can I nominate a charity and have someone from the charitable organization present on my behalf?
Initially, only members were allowed to make presentations. However, due to the sum of money that is being donated and desire for detailed information regarding the charity, a representative of the nominated non-profit is welcome to attend the event, with the paying member, and present on behalf of the charity as long as the member is also in attendance.

  • Can more than one member nominate a charity?
One nomination per $100 will be considered quarterly.

  • If my charity was not selected at the quarterly meeting do I need to resubmit it for consideration at the next meeting?
    Yes.

  • What if I have a legitimate ethical, religious or moral objection to the selected charity and their mission?
Speak to an executive founding member and these instances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

  • How often can a charity be awarded the funds?
A charity may only be eligible to receive the donation every two-years.
